PHALANGE -> PHALANX:A phalanx is a group of soldiers or police who are standing or marching close together ready to fight.
The Phalanges of the hand stay close together in a similar way, to do tasks with the hand.
PROXIMAL: Close to the origin. Proximal Phalanges stay close to the body.
DISTAL(antonym for PROXIMAL).
SESAMOID -> sesame seeds(which are small, thus resembles).
CARPAL: relating to Wrist.
META->above, high.
METACARPAL->stands above the wrist.

Scaphoid - resembling a boat.
Lunate - Crescent moon.
Triquetrum - three + ( ? ).
Pisiform - resembling a pea.
Trapezium - quadrilateral(four + sides), with no sides parallel.
Trapezoid - trapezium, with two sides parallel.
Capitate - forms the head.
Hamate - No idea :).
